“You must be the change you want to see in the world. To be the change you want to see in the world, you don't have to be loud. You don't have to be eloquent. You don't have to be elected. You don't even have to be particularly smart or well educated. You do, however, have to be committed.” Mahatma Gandhi

Our mission:

Our mission is to inspire our society to live with greater awareness, respect and compassion for each other and towards all sentient beings. We know through past and present personal experience that the path of yoga and meditation offers natural ways to manage our physical and emotional stresses. In a world of over activity, yoga and meditation provide excellent tools to slow down, learn how to breathe and to live with objective clarity and peace of mind. We know that yoga and meditation have profound effects on human beings. They have helped improve the lives of numerous individuals suffering from stress, anxiety, insomnia, depression and burnouts and have been proven to be unparalleled preventative means.

We care deeply for our human community, all animals and our planet, and we are dedicated to developing and teaching healthier balanced life style choices that will benefit all. A peaceful world will only become a reality if all individuals themselves live peacefully, with awareness. This objective can be achieved by awakening the human potential through yoga, meditation, communication and understanding.

The Kaivalya Centre has been serving the Ottawa-Gatineau capital region and beyond since 1998.

What is Kaivalya?

Kaivalya is a Sanskrit term, which means that there is only one life. Though forms create the illusion of multiplicity, life remains essentially one, universally. According to the sage Patanjali, Kaivalya is also the highest state of the human consciousness, the state that allows the mind to perceive the truth directly, without any mental projection.
