Lynne Cardinal
has been teaching and giving lectures and seminars on subjects related to Stress Management, Yoga, Relaxation and Meditation for over 20 years in Canada, Europe and India. She studied Eastern Philosophy from the IMI Institute in India from where she received a Ph.D. in Eastern Philosophy. She lived in India for over 15 years, first studying then teaching at the Institute. She is the co-author of several books and tapes on the philosophy of Yoga. Studying the scriptures directly from the Sanskrit, Lynne has created booklets and tapes on the philosophy of Yoga. Each Sanskrit verse is translated word-by-word and explained. This philosophy contains many direct meditation techniques plus insights into the workings of the human mind, as explained by the author of Yoga himself— Patanjali.

She has also composed a cassette on : The Art of Meditation available in English and in French. She has co-produced a CD named Madhuram with her husband, Jürgen Portz, on Sanskrit chants, with musical arrangements by Robert Lafond. She has been a writer for the Yoga Magazine (UK's leading monthly yoga magazine) and she has published numerous articles on Yoga and Meditation in Tone Magazine, in la revue Cheminement, Vitalité Québec, Health'N Vitality, in Vitality Magazine, in The West End Chronicle and in many other Newspapers and Magazines in the Ottawa region, such as in the Ottawa Citizen, regarding the effect of violent films and programs on children as well as on vegetarism and compassion.

She published a French book on Meditation entitled :The Art of Meditation, which is available in all French book stores as well as through the Kaivalya Centre. Lynne has been interviewed on CBC French and English radio, CFRA and CBC Winnipeg. She gave talks and signature sessions at the following book fairs: Hull, Trois-Rivières, Québec, and Montreal. She also received a Certificate of Completion - a full day workshop - from The University of Ottawa Heart Institute on Heart Wise Exercise, A closer look at meeting the needs of clients with heart disease, on May 6th, 2009.

Jürgen Portz
has been studying yoga and meditation since 1990. He spent 3 years deepening his practice (saadhanaa) in India at the IMI Institute during the 90s. Jürgen has a passion for philosophy, meditation and chanting. He has co-produced with Lynne Cardinal a CD of Sanskrit chants with musical arrangements by Robert Lafond, entitled: Madhuram, as well as a new release of the Yog Sûtras of Patanjali, chanted and interpreted from the Sanskrit text. Besides a full-time job as a senior deployment coordinator with a high-tech company here in Ottawa, Jürgen regularly teaches meditation and philosophy classes with his spouse and partner, Lynne Cardinal. He firmly believes in the transformative practice of Yoga and shares this passion with his students.

Lynne and Jürgen are both firm proponents of combining both Eastern and Western approaches to sprituality, they studied extensively the Integral framework and thought of Ken Wilber.
